   Soisan Mountain

   Soisan Mountain is a small 362-meter-high mountain rising above the plains, boasting a magnificent summit view that overlooks pristine nature and vast open fields. It is the heart of Cheorwon's history, home to the No. 1 Beacon Mound that signaled foreign invasions since the Goryeo Dynasty and preserving memories of the once-flourishing old Cheorwon before the Korean War. In addition, the Soisan Ecological Forest Green Trail has been created. For decades, Soisan Mountain had been inaccessible to the public, enclosed within minefields and the Civilian Control Zone beyond the military control area. However, through prolonged discussions and active cooperation with Army Unit 3007 (6th Infantry Division), the public, private, and military sectors united to open the current path.
