National Route 35: Embracing Hidden Views with the Leisurely Spirit of a Seonbi

Driving along National Route 35 through Andong and into Bonghwa, you will see a welcome sign. This marks the start of the section on Route 35 where you can relax and enjoy the scenery like a Daoist hermit. This stretch runs from Bukgok-ri, Myeongho-myeon to Socheon-ri, Beopjeon-myeon in Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The very first attraction encountered along this route is Cheongnyangsan Provincial Park.    Beombawi Observatory

   The name Beombawi (Tiger Rock) originates from a story during King Gojong's reign about a scholar named Kang Yeong-dal, who caught a tiger with his bare hands after encountering it while bowing toward his ancestral grave.
