Silan Coastal Road: Fall in Love with Picturesque, Charming Scenery!

Silan Coastal Road is an enchanting seaside drive that runs along Sacheonman Bay, which reaches deep into the inland area. Driving south along National Route 3 brings you to Samcheonpo. Starting from Mochung Park, the route stretches for about 9.7 km through Samcheonpodaegyo Bridge Park and Daebangjin Gulhang Port to Samcheonpo Port. Along this road, a rich landscape unfolds, featuring deep blue waters, fresh tidal flats, clusters of charming islands, colorful lighthouses, and a fantastic sunset trail. Following the gently curved road alongside the sea, you can drive to your heart's content all the way to Samcheonpodaegyo Bridge Park. Leaving the stylish Samcheonpodaegyo Bridge behind and heading toward Daebangjin Gulhang Port, you will encounter numerous deep coves along the southwestern coastline.    This natural park is located along the coast in Songpo-dong, Sacheon-si, boasting a vast total area of 112,000 ㎢. It was opened to commemorate Admiral Yi Sun-sin's victory in the Battle of Sacheon during the Japanese invasions of Korea (Imjin War) and to provide a recreational space for citizens.    A memorial park is located near the entrance of Samcheonpodaegyo Bridge, a prominent structure connecting islands between Sacheon-si and Namhae-gun.    Daebangjin Gulhang Port

   Once used as a naval base, Daebangjin Gulhang Port is an artificial harbor with a total area of 2,099 ㎢. In the Goryeo period, it was a military port facility called Guralyang, established to repel Japanese pirates who frequently raided the southern coast. During the Imjin War, it was also where Admiral Yi Sun-sin concealed Turtle Ships (Geobukseon).
