Cheonsuman Coastal Road

The Cheonsuman Coastal Road is a scenic coastal drive where visitors can encounter winter migratory birds, the winter sea, tidal flats, and seasonal winter delicacies. For these reasons, this coastal route starting from Cheonsuman Bay becomes even more delightful to travel during the winter season. While feeling the crisp winter breeze off the West Sea, visitors can watch the spectacular synchronized flight of migratory birds that have flown in from Siberia, and observe a diverse variety of birds including the rare hooded crane found only in Cheonsuman Bay, as well as natural monument protected species such as the oriental stork, black-faced spoonbill, and cinereous vulture.    Driving for about an hour and a half from Seoul along the Seohaean Expressway brings you to a world-renowned wintering site for migratory birds, where you can observe these beautiful creatures. This area is the Cheonsuman Bay region in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do, facing Anmyeondo Island.    Sokdong Observatory

   Located in Sokdong Tidal Flat Village, this observatory is the premier spot to take in the views of the West Sea around Cheonsuman Bay. Along the sandy beach on the way from the Information Center to the observatory, Hongseong's western coastline stretches out in full view. The sunset fading toward Anmyeondo Island across the sea at dusk is truly spectacular.    Namdang Port

   A treasure trove of seafood harmonious with the vast expanse of Cheonsuman Bay, Namdang Port offers fresh marine delicacies year-round, including jumbo shrimp, rockfish, cockles (torugai), and blue crabs.    Hongseong Seawall

   Hongbo-ro in Seobu-myeon, Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, runs along a seawall connecting Seobu-myeon in Hongseong-gun and Cheonbuk-myeon in Boryeong-si. It is worth parking your car near the Hongseong Seawall Memorial Tower to take a leisurely stroll. In the western sea, Anmyeondo Island floats like a massive landmass on the horizon.
