Hambaeksan Mountain Manhangjae Pass

Manhangjae Pass on Hambaeksan Mountain is the ultimate highland driving course in Korea and the highest mountain pass accessible by car. Manhangjae Pass sits on the border of Jeongseon, Yeongwol, and Taebaek in Gangwon-do, reaching an altitude of 1,330 meters.    Jeongamsa Temple

   Jeongamsa Temple was founded during the Three Kingdoms period by Master Jajang and is renowned for the Sumano Pagoda (National Treasure) and one of the five Jeokmyeolbogung shrines. Jeongamsa Temple can be visited on the way to Hambaeksan Mountain. Entering through the Iljumun Gate, you will see Yukhwajeongsa, Mogudang, and Beomjongru pavilions standing firmly on stone retaining walls in succession.
