Togyo Reservoir, Goseokjeong National Tourist Area, and Sundamgyegok Valley tell stories where nature and history blend harmoniously.    Togyo Reservoir

   When North Korea diverted the water flow of Bongnaeho Lake—an important water source for the Cheorwon Plain before the Korean War—to the Yeonbaek Plain in Hwanghae-do, the government initiated construction in 1972 and completed it in 1976. With a maximum water storage capacity of over 15 million tons, it is the largest artificial reservoir in Gangwon-do. Various fish thrive in its clear waters, and as a wintering site for migratory birds including endangered red-crowned cranes and white-naped cranes, it has been designated as one of the New Eight Scenic Views of Cheorwon. Situated along the access road to the 2nd Tunnel, a center of Cheorwon security tourism, it forms a picturesque lake view and serves as a resting site for wintering migratory birds.
