Encountering Goguryeo in Yeoncheon

Sintan-ri Station was the terminal point of the Gyeongwon Line until Baengmagoji Station was opened. Around Sintan-ri Station, many visitors explore various attractions related to the 'Village Longing for Unification' and visit Godaesan Mountain. Horogoruseong Fortress, Eundae-riseong Fortress, and Dangposeong Fortress in Yeoncheon are rare Goguryeo historic sites in South Korea. They formed a defensive line built after Goguryeo, which once reached the Hangang River, retreated to the Imjingang River. Excavated in the 2000s, all three historic sites remain relatively unfamiliar travel destinations.
