Dreaming of a Trip to Pyongyang on the Gyeongui Line

The Gyeongui Line is a railway connecting Seoul and Sinuiju, where freight trains once operated as far as the Kaesong Industrial Complex. Currently, commuter trains run to Munsan, and with the opening of the Munsan Station–Imjingang Station section in March 2020, shuttle trains run twice on weekdays and four times on weekends. It makes visitors dream of the day when they can travel by Gyeongui Line train past Gaeseong all the way to Pyongyang. Located right next to Imjingang Station, Imjingak features various attractions that overcome the pain of division and dream of reunification. Starting with the Dokgae Bridge Skywalk opened in 2017, Pyeonghwa Nuri Park and Peace Land are also famous photo spots for capturing once-in-a-lifetime shots. This peace travel course brings together the Hwangpo Sailboat, which lets you admire the scenic Imjingang River aboard a traditional-style boat, and the Gamaksan Suspension Bridge, a new hot spot in Paju.
