   Exhibition Hall of Chungju Goguryeo Monument

   At the Exhibition Hall of Chungju Goguryeo Monument, visitors can see the Chungju Goguryeo Monument (National Treasure No. 205), the only surviving Goguryeo stone monument in Korea. Standing in front of Ipseok Village in Yongjeon-ri, Gageum-myeon for centuries, its historical significance was only recognized in 1979. Believed to have been erected by King Jangsu after conquering the Namhangang River basin, it was named the Goguryeo Monument. A protective pavilion was subsequently built, and the exhibition hall finally opened in 2012.    Jodong-ri Prehistoric Museum

   This museum exhibits artifacts excavated from the Jodong-ri prehistoric site in Chungju. Through displays of daily life at the time, visitors can explore the Neolithic and Bronze Age history of the Chungju region. Built between September 2003 and February 2005, the museum officially opened on November 9, 2005. The building comprises one basement floor and two above-ground floors, housing 146 items across 89 lots on loan from the state out of a total of 203 excavated artifacts across 124 lots, including pottery and stone tools. The first floor features the Living Culture Hall, showcasing the Jodong-ri prehistoric site, Korea's prehistoric culture, and daily life in Jodong-ri.    Jungwon Cheongmyeongju

   Located in Changdong-ri, Jungangtap-myeon, Chungju-si, Jungwon Cheongmyeongju Brewery crafts Cheongmyeongju, a traditional folk liquor. Cheongmyeong, one of the 24 solar terms, falls in early April when the weather warms enough that 'even a planted poker will sprout.' Traditionally brewed in cold winter and aged for 100 days to be enjoyed on lush spring days, Cheongmyeongju is a smooth, clear liquor with an alcohol content of 17%. Thanks to its long aging process, even those who do not drink well can enjoy it with ease, and it tastes best served chilled.
