   Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond

   This is the site of a secondary palace of the Silla royal court, located to the west of Anapji Pond. Serving as the Crown Prince's palace (Donggung) alongside other auxiliary buildings, it is said that banquets were held here during national celebrations or when welcoming distinguished guests. It is also where King Gyeongsun of Silla hosted King Taejo Wang Geon of Goryeo in 931 to appeal for help in an emergency following Gyeon Hwon's invasion. As a quintessential example of Silla garden ponds, Wolji Pond was designed with curved edges so that the entire pond could not be seen in a single glance from any point.    Cheomseongdae Observatory

   Built during the reign of Queen Seondeok of Silla, Cheomseongdae is an astronomical observatory and the oldest surviving stone structure of its kind in East Asia.    Gyeongju Gyerim Forest

   Located in Gyo-dong, Gyeongju. Following the small path leading north toward Cheomseongdae Observatory or Daereungwon from inside the Banwolseong Fortress site, Gyerim Forest is located immediately on the left. To go without passing through Banwolseong, head about 400 meters toward downtown along National Route 7 from the intersection in front of the Gyeongju National Museum, and a small paved road leading to Cheomseongdae appears next to the Inwang-dong Police Box on the left. Passing Cheomseongdae and returning to the Banwolseong path, Gyerim appears on the right just before reaching the fortress.    Gyeongju Gyochon Traditional Village

   Home to the Gyeongju Choe Clan Old House (Important Folklore Cultural Heritage No. 27) and Gyeongju Gyo-dong Beopju (Important Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 86-da), Gyochon Village is imbued with the spirit of the Gyeongju Choe Clan, who maintained immense wealth for 12 generations and produced Jinsa (civil service exam passers) over 9 generations while dedicating themselves to scholarship. It is said that Yoseokgung Palace, where Princess Yoseok of Silla lived and gave birth to Seol Chong with Master Wonhyo, was once located here.
