Shoulders Swaying to the Beat, Spirits Soaring with the Rhythm

Although countless performance troupes disbanded during the Japanese colonial period and the Korean War, the Anseong Namsadang Nori Troupe has kept its lineage alive to this day, holding permanent weekend performances known as the Anseong Namsadang Baudeogi Pungmuldan Show. The audience response is so enthusiastic that the approximately 700 seats are packed for every performance. Namsadang nori consists of six acts and around 10 detailed acrobatic feats, including pungmul (percussion music), beona (plate spinning), salpan (tumbling), deotbogi (mask dance drama), and eoreum (tightrope walking).

   Anseong Farmland

   Anseong Farmland is an agricultural and livestock theme park where visitors can interact with 25 species of livestock across 390,000 pyeong (approx. 1.28 million square meters) of green grassland. Beginning in 1969 as Korea's first dairy cattle ranch, the Korea-Germany Dairy Demonstration Ranch, Anseong Ranch has been reborn as Anseong Farmland, a sixth-industry livestock theme park that combines agriculture and livestock industries with tourism services. The hands-on experience ranch, where visitors can touch and feed the animals directly, gathers various livestock in one place, from chikso (Korean brindle cattle) to Korean native cattle, donkeys, sheep, geese, and pigs. Visitors can tour the vast grassland, filled with rye in the spring and corn in the autumn, by taking a tractor wagon.    Taepyeongmu Transmission Hall

   The Taepyeongmu Transmission Hall is a cultural space completed in 1998 in Anseong, the hometown of Master Kang Seon-young, who dedicated her life to traditional dance. She used her personal funds to build it in order to properly transmit and preserve traditional culture, discover and foster talented dancers, and provide an open stage. To broaden the base of dance arts and provide proper education in traditional arts, the Taepyeongmu Transmission Hall seeks to popularize Korean traditional arts for tourists and residents of the Seoul Metropolitan Area through quarterly Taepyeongmu workshops for dancers nationwide and the weekly "Saturday Traditional Dance Regular Stage."
