   Goseong Wanggok Village

   Located to the north of Songjiho Lake, Wanggok Traditional Village is a must-visit destination when traveling to the northern coastal areas of Gangwon-do for a summer vacation. Although it is merely 1.5 km away from the beach, curiously, the sound of waves cannot be heard from the village. This is because mountains made up of five peaks surround the village. Thanks to these surrounding mountains, most of the houses were able to avoid bombing even during the Korean War.
