   Daejeon Museum of History was established as a cultural space for citizens following the development of the Daejeon Doan New Town. Opening on October 16, 2012, it consists of a Permanent Exhibition Hall, a Donated Relics Exhibition Hall, a Special Exhibition Hall, and a City PR Hall. The Permanent Exhibition Hall showcases valuable cultural properties under the theme of the lives and culture of Daejeon's Confucian scholars, while the Donated Relics Exhibition Hall displays artifacts donated by local citizens. In addition, the Special Exhibition Hall presents special exhibitions once or twice a year to offer a wide range of attractions.    This is a sacred national sanctuary where patriotic martyrs and war heroes who laid down their lives for the defense and prosperity of the homeland rest in peace. Construction began in 1979 and was completed in 1985. Across an expansive site of about 1 million pyeong (approx. 3.3 million m²), the burial grounds are divided into sections for patriots, persons of national merit, generals, officers, enlisted soldiers, police officers, and general personnel.
