Walking Along the Yeouido Saetgang Trail

This is a walking course around Yeouido. Strolling along paths lined with wildflowers, silver grass, and reeds in the heart of Seoul, you will briefly forget that you are in the middle of a bustling city. You can explore the Singil-dong Skate Street, which began in the early 1990s catering to skate fish enthusiasts, and perhaps enjoy a skate lunch if you are up for it. If you are traveling with children, be sure to visit 63 Sea World to explore another marine world, and take a walk along the Yeouido Dule-gil Trail together.

   Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park

   In the heart of Seoul, there is a field where various wildflowers bloom and a tributary stream where Chinese minnows, Japanese rice fish, and crucian carp swim freely. Saetgang Ecological Park, thick with reeds and silver grass, features a 6km walking trail, along with informational boards installed every 20 to 30 meters where visitors can learn about native Korean plants. As Korea's first ecological park, it is home to rare flora and fauna, including Natural Monument No. 323 the common kestrel, spot-billed ducks, grey herons, violets, curly-leaf pondweed, and Chinese minnows. To protect nature, no benches or snack bars have been installed in the park, and streetlights are intentionally omitted so that the animals and plants can rest and sleep undisturbed. MoreLess

   Yeongdeungpo Singil-dong Skate Street

   Fermented skate dishes are a prime example of food that polarizes people into passionate enthusiasts or extreme haters. In Singil-dong, Yeongdeungpo, there is a street lined with restaurants specializing in these skate dishes. In the early 1990s, the first skate restaurant opened in Singil 4-dong near the Wooshin Elementary School Intersection, and even today, specialty skate restaurants are relatively hard to find elsewhere.    63 Sea World

   This large indoor aquarium displays about 20,000 marine creatures of 400 species across 54 exhibition tanks and 26 specialized breeding tanks. Visitors can see coral reefs, seals, penguins, fur seals, dolphins, giant spider crabs over 2 meters tall, and coelacanths, an ancient fish preserving the mysteries of 350 million years ago. The facility spans two levels on the B1 and B2 floors. In the underwater synchronized swimming show, professional national synchronized swimmers perform graceful turns and acrobatic feats inside a massive aquarium filled with sharks and various fish. Hands-on experiences like doctor fish feeding, as well as creatures like lizards and anacondas, also await visitors. Since seal shows, fur seal shows, mermaid shows, penguin feeding shows, and synchronized swimming shows are held according to a scheduled timetable, checking the showtimes before departing will allow you to enjoy them without missing out.    Yeouido Dule-gil Trail (Yeouido Bike Path)

   Along the perimeter of Yeouido, Yeouido Hangang Park stretches along the riverside, and Saetgang Ecological Park is nestled along the inner side extending from the 63 Building to the National Assembly building. A bicycle path of about 8km connects Yeouido Hangang Park and Saetgang Ecological Park, which constitutes the Yeouido Dule-gil Trail. Because the trail section is not overly long, visitors can complete a full loop around Yeouido without spending too much time, making it an ideal outing course for families and couples.
