   Jeomyeongsan Mountain is more commonly known as Dodeuramsan Mountain. The name Dodeuram is believed to have evolved over time from "dot" (pig/boar) and "reum" (cry/sound). According to legend, a high monk (or in some versions, a dutiful son) was gathering medicinal herbs in these mountains when the rope tying him to a cliff began to fray against a sharp edge, putting his life in great peril.    The Icheon area became the center of traditional Korean ceramics because the 500-year history of Joseon ceramics originated around neighboring Gwangju, combined with the favorable location that provided easy access to raw materials and fuel.
