   Wolmido Island

   Other than a record stating that a temporary palace (haenggung) was established on Wolmido Island in the 4th year of King Hyojong's reign (1653), the island rarely appeared in history until the late Joseon Dynasty. The location of the temporary palace is said to have been the site of Imhaesa Temple on the east coast, but there is currently no way to verify this.
