Make Heartwarming Traditional Food in Saengdal-ri Village, Mungyeong

This course begins with experiencing urban-rural exchange by mingling with the villagers in Saengdal-ri Village, Mungyeong. In Saengdal-ri Village, residents with an average age of over 65 plan and run their own omija (five-flavor berry) experience programs, allowing visitors to feel the warm hospitality of the countryside. Experiences such as making omija syrup, pounding rice cakes with mallets, making tofu, and learning traditional folk songs bring villagers and tourists together, offering a precious opportunity to connect and learn the value of community.

   Saejae, which crosses the ridge of Joryeongsan Mountain along the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range, was historically the highest and roughest pass on the Yeongnamdaero Road connecting the Hangang and Nakdonggang river basins. The name Saejae was derived from meanings such as a pass so high that even birds struggle to fly over it, a pass overgrown with silver grass, or a newly opened pass between Haneuljae and Iurijae.
