   Jukbyeonhang Port

   Jukbyeonhang Port is a fishing port located at the northern end of Uljin. Famous as the site of the 15.6-meter-tall Uljin Lighthouse, it is one of the leading fishing bases on the east coast. Befitting its diverse catch volume, the port is lined with large and small seafood processing facilities, reflecting its considerable scale.    Bongpyeong-ri Silla Stele, Uljin

   울진 봉평리 신라비

   The Silla Stele in Bongpyeong-ri, Uljin was discovered in 1988 by a local resident while plowing a field. Because it remained buried underground for a long time, parts of the inscription are worn away, making precise decipherment difficult; however, it is estimated to have been erected in 524, during the 11th year of King Beopheung's reign in Silla. Designated as National Treasure No. 242 on November 4, 1988, it measures 204 cm in length, with the inscribed area measuring 32 cm wide at the top and 54.5 cm wide at the bottom. The stele was made from natural stone without dressing, and its overall shape resembles a trapezoid. The inscription is carved on only one side and consists of about 400 characters. The calligraphy style is regular script (haeseo) influenced by the Northern Dynasties of China's Northern and Southern dynasties period, though elements of clerical script (yeseo) are also visible.    Seongnyugul Cave, Uljin

   Located where Wangpicheon Stream winds around Seonyusan Mountain, Seongnyugul Cave is a natural limestone cave visited by tourists year-round, surrounded by dense oriental arborvitae trees, and is designated as Natural Monument No. 155.
