Yesan-gun is the hometown of the "Friendly Brothers" (Lee Seong-man and Lee Sun), a story well known across generations through elementary school textbooks. It is a tourism hub in northwestern Chungcheongnam-do dotted with renowned attractions, including Yedang Reservoir (the largest reservoir in the country), Daeungjeon Hall of Sudeoksa Temple (a National Treasure), Chunguisa Shrine dedicated to patriot Yun Bong-gil, Chusa Historic House (the former residence of Kim Jeong-hui), and Deoksan Hot Springs, renowned for its excellent sodium hot spring water.
