Yeongcheon is an area where the low and gentle mountain terrain is formed by the spurs branching off from the high ridges of the Taebaeksanmaek Mountain Range. However, with many passes forming the boundaries of the mountain ranges, it has historically served as an important transportation route. Thus, it can be described as a tranquil and peaceful rural town.    Ancient Tombs in Imdang-dong and Joyeong-dong, Gyeongsan

   Mounded tombs are densely clustered on the hills (altitude of 50–75m) in front of Yeungnam University in northeastern Gyeongsan-si, which corresponds to the tip of the Allyang Hills running north-south in the center of the Gyeongsan Basin. These large tombs are divided into the Imdang-dong Tombs to the far west, the Joyeong-dong Tombs in the center, and the Bujeok-ri Tombs to the east. Among them, the Imdang-dong Tombs are located where the ridge of a branch extending southwest from the main ridge of the hill in front of Yeungnam University meets the Gyeongsan Plain. Seven large mounded tombs built along the upper part of the ridge are distributed here; while some appear to be single round mounds, others consist of connected burial mounds containing several tombs, forming the shape of a single large hillock.
