   Birthplace of President Park Chung-hee

   This is the birthplace of former President Park Chung-hee, who served five presidential terms from the 5th to the 9th presidency starting in 1963. Born here on November 14, 1917, as the youngest of five sons and two daughters of Park Seong-bin and Baek Nam-i, President Park lived in this house until graduating from Gumi Elementary School and Daegu Normal School in 1937.    Dorisa Temple is known as the first Buddhist temple of the Silla Kingdom, founded in 440 (the 24th year of King Nulji of Silla) by the Buddhist monk Ado (阿道, ?–?) from Goguryeo. Around 417 (the 14th year of King Nulji, the 19th king of Silla), Monk Ado was returning from Seorabeol when he arrived here.
