   Seongheungsanseong is a stone fortress built near the lower reaches of the Geumgang River to protect Ungjinseong and Sabiseong, the capitals of Baekje. From the summit, the lower Geumgang area including Ganggyeong-eup can be seen in a single sweeping view. It is called Giwa (Roof Tile) Village because roof tiles were fired here during the Baekje era. Visitors can enjoy various farming experiences such as picking wild greens, watermelons, strawberries, cucumbers, sweet potatoes, and chestnuts, and traditional culture experiences such as catching loach, straw-craft, ice sledding, and making sotdae (bird totem poles) are also interesting.    Doldam Pungyeong (Stone Wall Scenery) Village

   Gongju has several '5-day-city, 2-day-country' experience villages offering traditional village events, various sights, and abundant activities. In Doldam Pungyeong Village, where houses with neatly stacked stone walls huddle close together, pottery-making and a program of hand-shaping dumplings to cook in a hot pot are especially popular. Activities change with the season—ice sledding in winter, gathering wild greens in spring, water play in summer, and a walk along the cosmos-flower path in autumn. Pottery-making is available year-round: visitors try shaping clay on a wheel themselves and knead and shape their own bowls.
