   Daecheon Beach

   The largest beach on the West Coast, with a width of 100m, a depth of 1.5m, and a water temperature of 21°C. A white sand beach made of crushed shells stretches along 3.5km of coastline.    Boryeong Mud Experience Center

   Jukdo Island

   Jukdo, a green island in the middle of a sea so calm and lake-like that it feels enclosed by land.\nBecause of the bamboo called "sinu-dae" covering the island, the round, flat tops of the eight small islets clustered together are all blue-green without exception. Sinu-dae bamboo is usually short, but here it grows tall enough to reach about two "gil" (roughly 3-4m) in height and grows so densely there's no room to set foot.    Yongdu Beach

   A year-round family resort set within a magnificent pine forest, its natural conditions are excellent enough that it has been designated a fixed survey site for wild bird and animal conditions in Chungcheong Province. Yongdu Beach, about 5km from Daecheon Beach in Boryeong, has an impressive approach road from downtown Boryeong. Along the way you pass the long Nampo Seawall, where you may spot street vendors and couples, and various seafood is sold along the seawall road.    Muchangpo Beach

   무창포해수욕장

   Once a military granary site during the Joseon dynasty, this was the first beach opened on the West Coast, in 1928. \n1.5km off the sandy beach is a prime fishing spot with about 2,000 pyeong of oddly shaped rocks, where an unusual phenomenon known as the "Miracle of Moses" occurs—a sea path opening up for 1-2 days during each month's spring tide. This mysterious sea-path phenomenon, over the 1.5km stretch from Muchangpo Beach to Seokdaedo Island, had been known to occur only during the summer's baekjung spring tide, but it turned out to actually occur twice each month during the lunar spring tides; once it was judged safe for the general public to enter with peace of mind, it was fully opened to the public starting in 1996. The red lighthouse standing tall at the end of Muchangpo's long breakwater is as striking as a painting, and pensions resembling country houses right in front of the beach's sandy shore add to its charm. \nMoreLess
