   Seosan A-District Seawall

   서산A지구방조제

   A seawall connecting Namdanghang-ro in Seobu-myeon, Hongseong-gun, Chungnam, with Buseok-myeon, Seosan-gun. At 6,458m long, it lets you see Ganwol-do Island as you drive from the Hongseong side. Construction to close off the water began in August 1979 and was finally completed for District B in October 1982 and District A in March 1984. After large-scale farmland was created through land reclamation, the abundant food supply established the Cheonsuman Bay area as a habitat for migratory birds. The Hongseong Bird Watching Science Museum opened at the entrance to the seawall to help people explore and observe the ecological environment of Cheonsuman Bay. It also serves as a passage between Hongseong and Seosan. Seosan A-District Seawall is even more spectacular when viewed from Gungni Port.\nMoreLess

   Gungni Port

   A modest port near Namdanghang-ro in Seobu-myeon, Hongseong-gun, Chungnam. Large amounts of tiger prawn, cockles, and conger eel are caught here. But more than that, it is the starting point where the coastal tourist road heading south begins. The sunset you meet while driving along Cheonsuman Bay is a first-class sunset in every way. Rather than sinking at the horizon, it sets in the west lighting up Anmyeondo Island across the sea. If a flock of winter migratory birds happens to fly in, it's the icing on the cake.    Sokdong Observatory

   Sokdong Getbol (Tidal Flat) Village is located at 689 Namdanghang-ro, Seobu-myeon, Hongseong-gun, Chungnam. A two-story coastal observatory and a wooden deck have been built in front of the village's information center. After parking, you can take in the sea view right away. The deck walkway leads to Moseom, an islet in front of the sea. Moseom is part of Bueongjaesan in Sanghwang-ri, Seobu-myeon, and in 2012 a ship-shaped photo zone was installed at its western tip. As a result, visitors often re-enact famous movie scenes there. From the sandy beach on the way from the information center to the observatory, Hongseong's western coastline comes fully into view. At dusk, the sunset fading toward Anmyeondo Island across the sea is spectacular. Around the islet, visitors can enjoy tidal-flat experiences catching manila clams, oysters, and conch.\nMoreLess

   Hongseong Seawall

   Hongbo-ro in Seobu-myeon, Hongseong-gun, Chungnam, is crossed by a breakwater linking Seobu-myeon, Hongseong-gun, with Cheonbuk-myeon, Boryeong-si. It's worth parking at the Hongseong Seawall Memorial Tower and taking a slow walk. In the western sea, Anmyeondo Island floats above the horizon like a huge island. Heading down toward Suryong Port lets you enjoy the sea view up close. Toward the inland side, flocks of migratory birds occasionally flying in are a sight to see. If you want a view from higher up, head to the Seawall Completion Tower.
