   Anmyeonam Hermitage

   Anmyeonam is a three-story temple located on the eastern shore of Anmyeondo. It was built in 1998 by followers of the monk Jimyeong of Beopjusa Temple, on a stretch of Anmyeondo's beach known for its natural beauty. The pine forest at the entrance to Anmyeonam is a great place to properly appreciate Anmyeondo's famous Anmyeon pines. The sunrise seen from Anmyeonam is also so spectacular that it draws many visitors. Many uninhabited islands spread out in the sea in front of Anmyeonam. Tidal-flat experiences are possible at low tide, and the roughly 100m floating bridge connecting Anmyeonam, which overlooks Cheonsuman Bay, to the twin islet of Yeouseom creates yet another striking view.    Kkotji Beach

   Located about 4km southwest of central Anmyeon-eup, Kkotji Beach has a sandy shore 3.2km long and 300m wide, made of silica sand. The beach's gentle slope, clear water, and comfortable water temperature also make it an excellent location for a swimming beach. During the day, when the tide goes out and exposes the tidal flats, the beach fills with people digging for clams or catching crabs on the rocks, and at dusk it grows crowded with visitors coming to watch the beautiful sunset. In particular, the sunset seen over the shoulders of Halmi Bawi (Grandmother Rock) and Harabi Bawi (Grandfather Rock), which stand side by side on the right of the beach as if leaning affectionately on one another, is considered dazzling and beautiful enough to rank among the best in the country.    Gonam Shell Mound Museum

   This museum offers an at-a-glance look at the history of shell mounds representative of the Neolithic period, and is located in Gonam-ri, Taean-gun, overlooking the West Sea tidal flats in the distance. Shell mounds are relics formed by piles of shells discarded by Stone Age people after eating, and they are important sites offering a glimpse into life at the time. The museum displays about 470 prehistoric relics found in the shell mound, including Neolithic comb-pattern pottery and Bronze Age plain pottery and stone tools, brought to life more vividly through dioramas.
