   Trekking in Juwangsan National Park

Each house is full of stories passed down through generations, and the 99-kan Songso Historic House of the wealthy Shim family is especially famous.    Baekja Jeonsujang

   백자전수장

   Cheongsong white porcelain, along with Mungyeong white porcelain, formed the two pillars of everyday Joseon-era pottery in the Gyeongbuk region. Made by grinding a stone called dosuk instead of clay, it has notably thin, light walls and a distinctive snow-white color. The Baekja Jeonsujang preserves the 500-year-old production process and techniques of Cheongsong white porcelain (Cheongsong saggi) intact. The kiln, workshop, the mine where dosuk (the raw material for Cheongsong white porcelain) was extracted, and the office have all been restored to their original form, offering much to see beyond the simple transmission of skills.
