   Originally established in 1954 as a temporary wooden structure following a market site development project, the market was rebuilt in 1982 into the current commercial-residential Jungang Market as part of a modernization initiative. The facility spans one basement floor and two above-ground floors (total floor area of 15,436㎡) with 449 stores. The basement floor is dedicated to fishery sales and raw fish restaurants, while the first and second floors house general wholesale and retail shops (food, clothing, etc.).
