   Unhyeongung, located in present-day Unni-dong, Jongno-gu, is a historic cultural heritage site. Unlike a royal palace such as Gyeongbokgung, Unhyeongung is one of the residences of royal relatives that came to be called a 'gung (palace).'    Jongmyo Shrine

   Jongmyo is the shrine enshrining the spirit tablets of the Joseon dynasty's successive kings and queens, as well as kings and queens posthumously honored. Within its 56,500-pyeong grounds stand Jongmyo Jeongjeon, the main hall, along with the auxiliary shrine Yeongnyeongjeon, Jeonsacheong, Eosukshil, Hyangdaecheong, Sindang, and other buildings.
