An Adventure Into the Age of Dinosaurs

Sado Island, floating like a tiny dot in the waters off Yeosu, is a unique island themed around dinosaurs. Stepping off at the island's pier, a giant dinosaur model greets young explorers.    Yeosu Jinnamgwan Hall

   여수 진남관

   Jinnamgwan Hall, designated National Treasure No. 304, is the only surviving building of the Jeollajwa Suyeong naval command fortress. It is a massive 75-bay guesthouse built in 1599, the year after the Imjin War ended, by Yi Si-eon, the naval commander of Jeolla Left Province and successor to Admiral Yi Sun-sin, on the site of Jinhaeru Pavilion, which had burned down during the second Japanese invasion (Jeongyu War). Starting in 1911, the 5th year of Emperor Sunjong, it served as Yeosu Public Common School, and during the Japanese colonial period it was also used as Yeosu Middle School and a night commercial school. \nMoreLess

   Yeosu Nangdo-ri Dinosaur Footprint Fossil Site

   The inland and island areas around Yeosu are mainly composed of Cretaceous volcanic and sedimentary rock formations, and dinosaur fossil sites have been found on 5 islands where sedimentary rock is distributed.    The Ocean Resort Water Park

   The Ocean Resort in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, opened a large water park capable of accommodating around 600 people along with a 128-unit condominium facility in July 2008. Para Ocean Water Park is the only water park in Korea where visitors can play in the water while taking in views of the blue Dadohae archipelago; the indoor section features a wave pool, slides, a para wave, an aqua kids' pool, and a spa, while the outdoor section operates its own slides and wave pool.
