   Daegu Arboretum

   Daegu Arboretum is made up of 21 themed gardens, including a Conifer Garden, Broadleaf Garden, Flowering Tree Garden, Wildflower Garden, Medicinal Plant Garden, and Dye Plant Garden, planted with more than 400 species and 60,000 trees, along with 800-plus species and some 130,000 individual flowering plants across 1,100 flower beds; it also displays about 300 bonsai of 40 species, some 2,000 cacti of 200 species, and over 300 ornamental stones, making it a beloved urban-style arboretum close to the city center, cherished by Daegu residents for observation, field trips, learning, and rest.    Nampyeong Mun Clan Bolli Settlement

   남평문씨본리세거지

   This site originally held an auspicious plot where a temple once stood; the Nampyeong Mun clan later settled here as a family enclave, laying out the grounds and roads in an orderly grid based on the jeongjeon land system, and building their houses. The settlement today has nine houses and two pavilions, with low walls built along the roadside sections of the residential area. Subongjeongsa, the settlement's representative building, stands at the front of the site, and was used both to receive visiting guests and to hold clan gatherings, with a beautifully arranged garden. Gwanggeodang was a place of study where the clan's younger members cultivated learning and refinement, and Insumungo was a building that preserved some 10,000 books and clan treasures. MoreLess

   Dalseong Dodongseowon

   달성 도동서원

   Designated Historic Site No. 488 on October 10, 2007, Dodongseowon was built to honor the scholarship and virtuous conduct of the Joseon-era Confucian scholar Kim Gwang-pil (pen name Hanhwondang). Enclosed by a wall of earth and roof tiles, the academy has a modest, refined elegance while harmonizing with the beautiful natural surroundings, representing a classic example of Korean seowon (Confucian academy) architecture; in front of the academy stands a 400-year-old ginkgo tree planted in honor of Kim Gwang-pil.
