   The Maebongsan Wind Power Complex, running along the summit ridge of Mt. Maebongsan in Taebaek, Gangwon-do, features eight large wind turbines standing amid vast vegetable fields, creating an exotic landscape. There is plenty to see from the summit, including sweeping open views, the Hill of Wind, and red-colored windmills.    Yongyeon Cave

   Yongyeon Cave sits at an elevation of 920m on the lower ridge of Mt. Geumdaebong, the backbone of the Baekdudaegan range. For a long time it was exposed to the public without special protective measures, causing serious damage to its stalactites, stalagmites, and other formations, but on February 26, 1980, it was designated Gangwon-do Provincial Monument No. 39, and a barrier structure was installed at the cave entrance to protect it. Among them, Taebaek Eutteum Hanwoo, located in front of Cheongsol Apartment, is quite special. The reason: beef has the best texture and richest flavor when it comes from cattle aged 32 to 34 months, and by cutting out the usual distribution period, the restaurant can raise the cattle for the full time needed before the meat is prepared. [Taebaek Silbi Restaurant] Taeseong Silbi Restaurant, a hanwoo grill specialist, is unusual in that it grills the beef over charcoal briquettes rather than the usual way.
