Reveling in Drifting Cherry Blossoms

Jinhae-gu in Changwon is a town awash in cherry blossoms every April. Yeojwacheon Stream, Gyeonghwa Station, and Anmin Park are famous cherry blossom spots and popular filming locations. From Jehwangsan Park's observatory, all of downtown Jinhae spreads out below; Changwon Marine Park is now home to the Solar Tower, soon to be a Changwon landmark, offering sweeping views over Jinhae Bay and the Geoga Bridge connecting Busan and Geojedo Island.

   Jinhae Inland Water Environmental Ecology Park has been developed as an eco-friendly park on 83,897 square meters of retention basin land around the South Inland Water Fisheries Research Institute, which preserves rich natural surroundings and wetlands home to diverse trees and flowering plants; it serves as a space for nature study and a cultural resting place for citizens.    Yeojwacheon Stream

   Well known as a Jinhae cherry blossom spot, Yeojwacheon Stream is home to the bridge where the two lead actors (Gwan-woo and Chae-won) in the MBC drama [Romance] first met while visiting the Jinhae Gunhangje (Naval Base Festival). As soon as the show aired, the bridge became known as the '[Romance Bridge]' and quickly rose to prominence as a tourist attraction.    Jehwangsan Park

   Jehwangsan Park is a citizens' park built on Jehwangsan Mountain at the center of Jinhae. Climbing the park's 365 steps to the summit, you'll find the nine-story Jinhae Tower, shaped like a naval warship, rising up with a sweeping view of the city of Jinhae and the sea.    Gyeonghwa Station

   Gyeonghwa Station, a small halt station in Gyeonghwa-dong, Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, has become famous as a cherry blossom spot, though it has not handled passenger service since 2006. Located between Seongjusa Station and Jinhae Station, cherry blossoms line the railway to form a tunnel, making it a famous cherry blossom photo spot alongside Anmin Pass and the Yeojwacheon bridge in Jinhae.
