A Fun Market Experience in Songtan Tourist Special Zone

The area around US military base K-55 in Songtan, Pyeongtaek, was designated the Songtan Tourist Special Zone in 1997, offering a variety of sights along with shopping. In particular, the International Central Market, a lively street for young people, offers snacks such as hamburgers, kebabs, and sweet fried chicken alongside street performances, and every weekend hosts a night market with plenty to see. Utdari Culture Village, remodeled from a closed school, and Baramsae Village, where you can experience eco-friendly farming methods, are perfect educational spaces for children.

   Pyeongtaek-si is located at the southern tip of Gyeonggi-do, bordered by Anseong-si and Yongin-si to the east, Asan Bay to the west, Asan-si and Cheonan-si in Chungcheongnam-do to the south, and Osan-si and Hwaseong-si to the north. Mubongsan is in the northeast, Deokjisan, Museongsan, and Obongsan in the northwest and west, Godeungsan and Maansan in the south, and Baramsan in the center.
