Meeting the Little Prince Beneath a Baobab Tree

Opened in 1979, Hantaek Botanical Garden is Korea's largest botanical garden, home to about 9,000 plant species ranging from endangered rare plants to a wide variety of wildflowers; its highlight is the Australia House, where you can see the baobab tree from The Little Prince. Yongin Farming Culture Theme Park, alongside MBC Dramia — well known as a filming set for Korean historical dramas — is also perfect for enjoying farming culture and hands-on experiences with the family.

   Hantaek Botanical Garden was opened in 1979 by director Lee Taek-ju on about 300,000 pyeong (including planned expansion land) in Oksan-ri, Baegam-myeon, Yongin, Gyeonggi-do. It is Korea's largest botanical garden, with about 9,000 species including rare and endangered plants, native species, and introduced species — roughly 2,400 native species (about 1,700 herbaceous and 700 woody plants) and about 6,600 introduced species. In 2001, it was reborn as the Hantaek Botanical Garden Foundation with a mission of giving back to society, and has been designated by the Ministry of Environment as an ex-situ conservation institution for rare and endangered plants.
