Jeongseon Five-Day Market is one of the most visited tourism-oriented five-day markets among out-of-town visitors. It offers a wide variety of local Gangwon-do foods and sights, along with regular scheduled performances. From Ararichon, where visitors can enjoy cultural experiences themed around traditional Gangwon houses and Park Ji-won's classical Chinese-language novella 'Yangbanjeon' (The Tale of a Yangban), to the Sky Walk offering views of the winding Donggang River, a single day spent in downtown Jeongseon feels far too short.

   Jeongseon Market mainly deals in vegetables grown on local farms, along with agricultural products such as chili peppers, bellflower roots (doraji), potatoes, and garlic, most of which are sold retail directly by the farming households that grew them, allowing shoppers to buy fresh produce at low prices. Nearby, a medicinal herb market has formed selling herbs including Jeongseon's specialty milkvetch root (hwanggi), along with danggwi and cheongung, drawing many visitors. Since 1999, the Jeongseon Five-Day Market train has been in operation, attracting many tourists, and linked tour packages (bus tours, changgeuk performances) are also available.    Ararichon, which recreates the traditional residential culture of old Jeongseon, sits on a 34,722㎡ (10,503-pyeong) site in Aesan-ri, Jeongseon-eup, Gangwon Province. It features six traditional houses — a traditional tile-roofed house, a gulpi (bark-shingled) house, a neowa (wood-shingled) house, a jeoreup (straw-thatched) house, a stone house, and a log house — along with a tavern and a local goods shop.    Sky Walk
