Enjoying a Traditional Hanji Papermaking Experience on the Slopes of Mt. Joryeongsan

Yeonpung-myeon in Goesan-gun borders Mungyeong, North Gyeongsang Province, across Mt. Joryeongsan. It is also where the Joseon painter Danwon Kim Hong-do once served as county magistrate. Sinpung Traditional Hanji Village has an environment well suited to growing paper mulberry, the raw material of hanji, and visitors can try their hand at making traditional Korean paper. This route also takes in the notable sites of the Mt. Joryeongsan area, including the Yeonpung-ri rock-carved Buddha, Suok Falls, and Joryeongsan Natural Recreation Forest.
