   In 1971, the Geoje Bridge was built across the Gyeonnaeryang Strait, connecting what was then Yongnam-myeon, Tongyeong-gun, with Sadeung-myeon, Geoje-gun. With the bridge's completion, Geoje Island was no longer cut off as an island.    Jisimdo Island

   This camellia island has coastline that is largely made up of fairly steep cliffs, while the hillsides, dotted here and there with houses and fields, are generally flat. For a small island, it also has quite well-developed paths. Aside from the sloping cement road between the pier and the village, the trails are mostly flat, and by following this path -- the round-island road of Jisimdo -- for just two to three hours, you can take in the whole island.\nMoreLess
